I recently found out that my 20 year old son is selling drugs at university (in another town). I knew he was using pot and although I was not happy with that, I realized there was not much I could do about it since he is over 18 and not living at home. Now after finding out this news, and it is not pot he is selling, I am brokenhearted. He is brilliant, gets high marks and scholarships, and now it looks like he might be willing to throw it all away for a few dollars. I confronted him and he said that he needed the money. He had not asked me for money and I told him that he could ask anytime. I am committed to his success at school. He said that he wanted to take care of his own finances. Right.
Now he will be coming home for a few days at Christmas and I know I need to have a big talk with him. I didn’t do it this week because he is just starting exams and I don’t want to interfere with that.
Have any of you been through this? Any advice on what I can say to him?
